It may first be noted that in Inuus each centre is situated upon an eminence which would definitely mark the place if the epidermic mark- ings should disappear, and it seems probable that the thenar and hypo- thenar eminences of the human hand as well as the raised region at the base of the fingers (the "mounts" of palmistry) correspond to the centres and will thus furnish a rough guide in the attempt to locate.
