Note that the tuatara and crocodiles have both supratemporal and lateral tem- poral fossa, the ljzeird, being without quadratojugal, has no lateral temporal fossa, the snake has neither fossa, and the turtle should have a supratemporal fossa, but this is covered by plates of bone from the parietal and squamosal.
