While Dr. Cheney retained his citizenship inLewiston and seldom lost his vote there, duringthe next few years, he spent much time at hiswifes homestead in Pawtuxet, R. I., in quietstudy and home companionship. During this timehe took the Chautauqua course of readings andwas one of the graduates in the class of 1900.
