A Venetian schiavona, circa 1600. Broad double-edged blade with triple fullers on either side, struck twice with crescent moon marks. Iron skeleton basket hilt with thumb ring. Original (loosened) shagreen-covered grip with an iron pommel in the shape of a stylised cat's head. In all parts original schiavona, one edge of the blade slightly notched.
