A modern steel tube farm gate bearing a hand-painted "private" sign. The gate is supported by two wooden posts. There is a tall hedge to the left of the gate, a lower one to the right. This lower hedge has recently been cut. Both hedges are leafless. Behind the gate is an empty snow-covered field. The photograph was taken shortly after dawn, which is resulting in some colour to the sky and clouds.
