As these swellings increased theywere made the subject of enquiry, and it wasascertained that they consisted in an excessivedevelopment of the cellular (or fleshy) matterof the stem, assuming on the surface a warteior tubercular appearance; that the warts were of aigreat varietj of sizes, all tapering to a sharp pointsome divided into two plano-convex parts, and a fewsupported by minute stunted leaves. A section ofthe surface of the enlargement appeared as at plants thus aftected were feeble in theirgrowth, made little progress, and gradually losttheir leaves. Both cuttings and old plants of the Favourite Pelargonium were attacked. Bjdegr
