Garden spider in the centre of a glistening web
The European garden spider, Araneus diadematus on a web glistening with raindrops. This is a common sight in the late summer and early autumn and is used to catch prey. The spider perches head down waiting for vibrations caused by an insect on the web through it's front legs.
