Internet. Computer artwork representing the inter- net, an international network of computers that includes the World Wide Web (WWW) & electronic mail (e-mail). The symbol \@\" (meaning \"at\") forms part of an e-mail user's address, while the phrase \"http://www\" begins each WWW user's address. These addresses allow computer users to send and receive text and data over the internet. The Earth is seen surrounded by streams of zeroes and ones (binary digits). The binary system represents numbers and computer commands with a series of \"0\"s and \"1\"s. Computers use it to communicate with each other because an electric pulse can be used to represent a \"1\", whilst the absence of a pulse means \"0\"."
