He was in the employ of the Hen-drick Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Carbondale,Pa., for several years, and then became itsagent in New York, 1896-99. In the latteryear the Carbondale Machine Co., was or-ganized, and he was appointed its engineerand director, managing the New York officeof the company, where he is still located. Heis a member of the American Society ofMechanical Engineers; the Engineers Clubof New York; the American Society of Re-frigerating Engineers; and of the Delta TauDelta fraternity. Torrance, Kenneth (, 84), was bornin Brooklyn, N. Y., June 29, 1863. He was. Kenneth Torrance employed in the shops of Henry R. Worth-ington, 1884-93, serving in various capaci-ties, as vise hand in erecting pumps, assistantto foreman in machine-shop, engineer in theerecting department on waterworks engines,and as assistant manager and engineer of theChicago office of the firm. He engaged ingeneral engineering in Chicago, 1893-94, andhas been chief engineer at the Ridgewoodengine-house and line stations in the De-partment of City Works, Brooklyn, from1894 to date. He is a member of the Amer-ican Society of Mechanical Engineers; theAmerican Waterworks Association; theBrooklyn Engineers Club; the Municipal Engineers Club; the National Associationof Stationary Engineers; and of the Rich-mond Hill Golf Club.
