HRH Princess Alexandra is greeted by the Mayoress of Croydon Avril Slipper and by Air Vice Marshal Clive Evans CBE - who she first met in 1954 when he got his 'wings' - at the Elis David Almshouse in Duppas Hill, Croydon, Surrey, which she firstopened in 1975. The purpose of the visit was to mark the completion of refurbishments to the Almshouse which has been in Croydon since 1447
