14 spot ladybird
14 spot ladybird (Propylea quatuordecimpunctata), a member of the Coccinellidae family. This species is distinguishable by the almost rectangular spots, through there is variation between the colour and shape of the spots. Both adults and larvae feed on aphids. It is found in a wide range of habitats occurring across the Palearctic ecozone. Photographed in Somerset UK in June.
