Soak the reeds to straighten them and cutoff any loose fibrous —2 pieces. Soften each piece of raffia by stroking it in the hand from thebroad end downward. Spht off a piece from each about yi wide andcontinue to stroke until all harshness has been removed. This is neces-sary for smooth raffia work. Directions.
