For ten yearshe was honorary secretary of the Cardiff NaturalistsSociety, and on three occasions filled with distinction the post of president. Hewas a great lover ofnatural history, andpossessed a wideknowledge of for many3-ears with the oldCardiff Museum, hedid yeoman service insecuring the locationof the Xational Museumof Wales in Cardiff ;he was a member ofthe court of governors,the council, and ofvarious committees ofthe Welsh Museumfrom the start.
