Sandhill Cranes at Whitewater Draw
Sandhill Cranes gather annually at Whitewater Draw during their annual migration south for the winter. The shallow lakes are surrounded by farmland, and the high desert of Cochise County, Arizona. On this day, it was cold enough to need a good jacket to stay warm, and it quickly became cooler after the sun set. A fortunate bright full moon appeared, extending this photo opportunity well after sunset.
