There can be no doubtbut that the Higliland weavers, who indeed, as it is,occasionally make carpets of great beauty of design andgoodness of fabric, if properly encouraged, would soon rival,if not much surpass, the manufacturers of Kidderminster. The vessels represented underneath are selected fromvarious discoveries, as specimens of the earthenware manu-factures of the ancient Celtic tribes of Britain, and mustbe allowed to be not altogether deficient either in beautyof form or ornament.
