Schmeltz, Director of the Leiden Ethnological Museum, has described these ahuula,^^ which are in his charge, but the colored figure which he gives is completely restored and shows nothing of the ravages of time. He does not give the dimensions, but as I remember it, it is of medium size, not exceeding 44 inches in length. Fig. 98. 64. From the Royer Coll., No. 493, its history is identical with that of the preceding specimen. Herr Schmeltz has also described this.^'^ Length, 24 inches; breadth, 54 inches.
