Prehistoric mammal skeleton. Palaeontologist Christian de Muizon, director of Earth History at the National Museum of Natural history, Paris, France, holding a case containing the fossilised skeleton of a pantodont prehistoric placental mammal. This is the most complete pantodont skeleton ever found. It dates from the beginning of the Tertiary period (around 65 to million years ago) and was found in the Andes, Bolivia.
