The sessions of the State Horticultural Society held at the opera house, August 26, were well attended by the members of the organization from various parts of the state. About 40 were present. Much interest was taken in tlie papers and addresses and much valuable information was given. Many expressed regret that more time was not given to discussing the various topics. The horticulturists residing in and near the city took much interest in the meetings and did all they could to make them successful. The illustrated lecture by Prof. J. O. Elsom, of the Wisconsin tjniversity, on "Parks and Gardens at Home and Abroad" was very interesting. The dis- play of flowers and fruits was very beautiful and the exhibitors from Door county won many prizes. On the morn- ing of August U7, the visitors were given a carriage ride around the city and visited some of the orchards
