The increased work of the right ventricle leads to hyper-trophy, and the electrocardiograms of congenital pulmonic stenosisreveal marked preponderance of this chamber (Fig. 120). Nocharacteristic electrocardiographic findings occur. CONGENITAL AORTIC STENOSIS Congenital aortic stenosis is a rare anomaly. Nocharacteristic electrocardiographic findings occur. CONGENITAL AORTIC STENOSIS Congenital aortic stenosis is a rare anomaly. The stenosis mayoccur at the valvular orifice or in the arch of the aorta, aboveor below the ductus arteriosus (Botalli). This lesion may or maynot be associated with patency of the ductus arteriosus. Theassociation with pulmonic stenosis and with patent interventricularseptum sometimes occurs. In this anomaly, as in all aortic lesions, 144 CLINICAL ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY the left ventricle bears the brunt of the burden, and electrocardiograms are not characteristic, preponderance ofthe left ventricle being present (Fig. 121).. PATENT FORAMEN OVALE Patency of the foramen ovale is often not attended by signsand symptoms; its presence is determined by the size of the open-
