End Construction of Postal and Baggage Car channels are employed between the center and sidesills and channels of the same size and weight are also usedto support the floor stringers, which are 254-in. by 2-in. by^-in. angles. The side sills are SA-m. by 8-in. angles, a 3/16-in. plate being riveted to the side sill and to the belt rail. vestibule door posts are 6-in., I-beams, braced at thetop to the body corner posts by 3-in. by 3-in. by %-in. angles,while a 6-in., 8-Ib. channel forms the vestibule end plate. Theend sheathing of the car body is yi in. thick. Above the floor stringers is placed .04-in. galvanized iron,above which there is a layer of .)4-in. Magnesite. Next to thisis a layer of i^ Xo. 20 gage Keystone flooring, abovewhich is placed the linal flooring, which is i/4-in.
