Tracks through a cattle station in the Barkly Tablelands, Northern Territory, Australia.

Cattle stations are ubiquitous in central Australia; too dry and too hot for arable farming. They are huge in size, often over a million hectares, and mustered by helicopter and quad bike. Driving south along the Stuart Highway from Darwin the landscape and vegetation changes, becoming more sparse as you go. But this was the first time it became totally open. We stopped to capture some images of the landscape here.
