The combined deposits of the two banks were $313,000 on the first of the present year. A first class hotel—the Occident—is conducted by J. F. Mc- Donald. All branches of trade are well represented. There are two garages, two livery barns and a newspaper, the Ulen Union. H. P. Henrickson of Ulen selected seed potatoes true to type for about.
