The first brigade at the famous battle of Durham wascommanded by the Lord Henry Percy, General of all that him was Thomas de Haitfeld, Lord Bishop of Durham ;Gilbert Umphravile, Earl of Angus; the Lord Thomas Musgrave,and the Lord Henry Scroope, of Masham. In the second battalia-was William Zouch, Archbishop of York, and Lord Warden ofthe North, and John Kirkby, Bishop of Carlisle, and several othergreat men. After the battle, Queen Philippa went to York, andfrom thence to London, where having taken order for the safie cus-tody of the King of Scots, and the rest of the prisoners, she thenwent with an honourable company of ladies of the highest quality, whose las-lS.
