Computer artwork of the heart. The heart is shown here from the front. The large, round chamber at lower right is the left ventricle, the smaller chamber on the left is the right atrium. At the top, the large vena cava vein (left) and aorta artery (right) can be seen entering the organ. The smaller vessels on the right are the pulmonary veins and arteries, which transport blood between the right side of the heart and the lungs. Over the surface of the heart are the cardiac vessels, which supply the heart muscle with blood.
