5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 24, 2018) Information Systems Technician 3rd Class Cameron Barfoot, assigned to the “Grey Knights” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 46, stands watch during flight operations. VP-46 is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet and 7th Fleet areas of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While in this region, VP-46 is supporting naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
