A woman dries reeds over a fire in Ban Pak Luang, Laos. Clusters of the reeds, wrapped with bamboo and made into brooms, are sold to neighboring Vietnam and fetch 3,000 kip ($). The village would only suffer minor inundation by proposed Dam #3 (whose construction has not yet commenced).
