A bridge over the Salmon River in Hyder Alaska. Taken on a typical Alaskan day the far end of the bridge is barely visible through the mist. Hyder is a small land locked town in southern Alaska whose prosperity and population has been in decline for many years due to the loss of all major mining projects in the area. The exploratory mining which still occurs in the area today is on a very small scale.
