The fountains generally play in summer from 4 to 5or to on the Sundays on which the Grandes Eaux at Versailles(p. 321) do not play. The Jci Giant\ or great jet, to the left ofthe cascades, rises to the height of 136ft. A military band playsin the park on Sun. and Thurs. in summer, from 8 to 4 or Carriages are not allowed to enter the park without aticket (I fr.), to be obtained at the tobacconists near the bridge. A few unimportantremains are all that are left. The site was converted in 1893 intoa terrace with gardens. It commands a good view of Paris (see below);another good view is obtained from the Trocadero, or old privategarden, on the height to the right. — Rest of the park, see below. The Church of St. Cloud is a handsome modern edilice, by Dela-rue, in the Gothic style of the 12th century, with a lofty spire. Thechoir is adorned with mural paintings by J. Duval-le-Camus, re-presenting scenes from the life of St. Clodoald. The church alsocontains some fine stained glass. Opposite the church are the remains of the abbey where was interred, and adjacent is a handsome modern Hdtel deVille. A little above the church is the Hospic
