Grand Eapids, Mich.—The Wealthy Avenue Floral Co. is planning to be- gin the rebuilding of its greenhouses as soon as the spring and early sum- mer rush is over. The old houses, which were erected one at a time as the business expanded, will be replaced with strictly modern structures. New Rochelle, N. T.—F. C. Hitch- cock, at 39 Birch street, has forced 75,000 bulbs this season. The single daffodils have done splendidly, but a large proportion of the tulips have been blind. "According to my experience with bulbs," he says, "if they are dried out and allowed to rest a month or so before being planted, they force much ; Sochester, N. Y.—Colin Ogston, gar- dener at the Kimball conservatories, has a type of Gypripedium insigne that throws two flowers on a stem. A grand lot of seedlings can be seen here, with no two alike in beauty of marking and coloring. Some especially fine IsBlias were here seen in bloom, including L. superbiens, Gouldiana, alba and Stella. In carnations, Scarlet Glow is superior here to Beacon, both in habit of growth and quality of bloom. Ironton, O.—Weber Bros, have been in business here for nine years and have completely rebuilt the range. The work of rebuilding has been done in a most substantial manner and cement construction has been used as largely as possible. Even the gutters, as well as most of the benches, are of concrete. The range now comprises about 20,000 square feet of glass, and another house, 28x100, is in process of erection.
