PORTRAIT When this was completed and the mask registeredexactly with the top and edge of the negative, as aguide, it was only a matter of first putting the paperon the one negative and exposing it, then on the other,and with the correct time on both negatives a perfectmatch was the result, as shown in No. 5. The order called for a dozen finished photographs,and in order to take no chances with the mask being alittle off in registration and to be absolutely certain. n Print Xo. 3. (Mask A) Print Xo. 4. (Mask B) the mask was outlined on the back of the piece ofprinting paper with a pencil when the paper wasplaced on the negative for the first exposure, so thatwhen it was placed on the second negative the printerwas doubly sure that it was right. There are times when most studios can use thisprocess to advantage, especially when it is impossibleto photograph the entire group the second time. Asit means extra work and time it is only fair that anadditional price be asked. PORTRAIT
