An immensely productive variety with fruit of large size, that has been grown to considerable extent in some sections and even yet quite a number are holding oil to it and are planting more, in spite of the fact that its foliage gives _ way about fruiting time and is not suf- ficient to pro- t ect its im- mense crop of fruit; this can be guarded against by an application of nitrate of soda in the spring before fruiting.
