Makatote Viaduct, near Erua, Manawatu-Whanganui, North Island, New Zealand


Built between 1905 and 1908, the Makatote Viaduct takes the North Island Main Trunk railway across the Makatote River. Until 1981, it was the tallest structure on the North Island Main Trunk and remains New Zealand's third tallest railway viaduct.
