Detroit, Michigan - Marty Smets adjusts an exoskeleton worn by Carlo Bishop, both of Ford Motor Company, at the North American International Auto Show. The device is intended to make it easier for assembly line workers to repetitively perform certain tasks. Ford estimates that some of its assembly workers must lift their arms to perform overhead work 4,600 times a day.
