Seed should be planted at a depth of 2 inches, in rows 21 to 28 inches apart for dwarf varieties and 28 to 42 inches for the taller sorts. Wrinkled va- rieties are more sensitive to wet weather than the smooth-seeded, but are of super- ior quality. Peas should be gathered as fast as fit for use. If even a few pods begin to ripen, not only will new pods cease to form, but those partly advanced will stop growing. Two pounds seed plants 100 feet: 70 to 100 pounds per acre.
