The Market. The second week in June found stock plentiful and prices a little lower than theretofore. The weather has been ex- tremely warm the last few days, mak- ing it difficult to hold stock any length of time, and also bringing an oversup- ply into the market. Outdoor sweet peas have put in an appearance and are arriving in quan- tity, the quality being good. Outdoor peonies are about over and the only kind available now is storage stock, which is good and is bringing a good price. White roses are moving well, although there is a slight surplus this year, whereas last year the demand was much greater than the supply. The new ferns are in and are the best seen on this market this year. Various Notes. News of the death of Frank Eitzen- thaler appears in the obituary column in this issue. The Ohio district of the National Flower Growers' Association held two important meetings last week, one at Lima and one at Toledo, O. Don't for- get the biggest growers' meeting yet held is to be at Columbus, June 21. All Ohio district growers are asked to at- tend. H. Ovoreyndcr, of the Lodi Green- houses, Lodi, O., was a recent visitor in town. Mrs. Nellie Ziegler, of the Flower Shoppe, Bellevue, was also in town. W. A. R. HARTFORD, CONN.
