While exposed to intense enemy fire, Wright’s tactical skills and placement of fire support enabled his force to steadily advance and rescue the besieged Soldiers and Marines. Wright was a second lieutenant serving with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment in the Republic of Vietnam at the time.
