Cellulitis and conjunctivitis affecting a 2-year-old girl's skin and eye. The cellulitis is seen as the red, inflamed area. The conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva, the membrane over the eye) is causing the girl's eye to water. Cellulitis is an inflammation of the connective tissues of the skin, usually due to bacterial infection. Conjuntivitis is an inflammation of the conjuntiva of the eye. Orbital cellulitis can be associated with conjuntivitis. Treatment involves the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
