The cone geyser, Lion Geyser seen from a distance erupting to heights up to 70 feet, as it does so infrequently always a treat to those who can observ
Lion Geyser is a cone-type geyser which has the tallest eruptions of the Lion Geyser complex, up to 70 feet high. Eruptions are currently up to four bursts from the largest first eruption in about 90 minutes. The eruption cycle varies significantly from 6 hours to 50 hours. It gets its name from the roaring sound that occurs with steam bursts between eruptions. Eruptions are tall enough to be seen from many areas throughout the Geyser Hill, Old Faithful and Castle Geyser groups.
