The original Roy Rogers Museum on Highway 18 close to the Apple Valley Inn, California, USA in 1967. The museum opened in 1957 on Highway 18 in a former bowling alley. A fibreglass sculpture of Rogers’ horse Trigger is above the entrance. The Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum then moved within California in 1976 from Apple Valley to Victorville, where it stood for 27 years. For decades it served as the home for artifacts from Rogers’ television career. Two prized and unique items were Trigger, Rogers' horse, and Bullet, his dog, in taxidermy. Following the death of Rogers (1998) and Evans (2001) the museum moved to Branson, Missouri in 2003. The museum struggled financially and the remaining family decided to close its doors in 2009. The majority of the collection was sold in 2010 for $ million. This image is from an old American amateur Kodak colour transparency. It will look soft if used at too large a size – a vintage 1950s photograph.
