The spindle bearings are taperedand made of phosphor bronze. They have oil reservoirs com-pletely around the inner bearing, and arc so designed that a arrangement of transmitter, receiver, batteries and the induc-tion coil. The telephone is used by trainmen, signal men,officials and linemen for talking to dispatchers headquarters,and is arranged to connect at any point on the circuit. An adjustable leather strap handle makes the telephone boxvery handy to carry. NON-AUTOMATIC OIL SWITCH. Double Spindle Shaper continuous flow of oil is assured. Each bearing is independ-ently adjustable with one screw, with provision for taking upwear. The oil reservoir is covered so that no dirt can getinto the bearings. This construction is designed to permit thehighest speed possible. Another valuable feature is the construction of the counter-shaft, the base of which is cast in one piece, on which allthe pulleys and belt shifters are mounted. This distinctivefeature makes the most rigid design and also eliminates allassembling on arrival at destination. Adjustable independentidlers are provided to take up the slack in either belt to main-tain the proper tension at all times. The table is planed trueand firmly bolted to the column. It is fitted with removableconcentric rings, 10 in. in diameter. The column is a single-cored casting with a broad Hour support.
