St Issui's Church, Partrishow, Powys: churchyard preaching cross opposite stone benches running alongside the chancel and nave.

St Issui's Church, Powys: churchyard preaching cross opposite stone benches running alongside chancel & nave. Giraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales) came here in 1188 with Archbishop Baldwin to preach the Third Crusade. Lantern top showing St Issui is modern, as is the wooden lectern. Originally founded c 1060 when a wealthy leper, cured at St Issui's Well, donated a hatful of gold for the building of a church. St Issui was a C6th Celtic missionary who established a hermitage close to the holy well and was murdered by a man he had healed. A public footpath passes through the churchyard between church and cross.
