Milky Way and planets over tree. The Milky Way rising above a silhouetted olive tree in Noudar Park, Alqueva Dark Sky Reserve, Portugal. The Milky Way is our galaxy seen from the inside, forming a band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. Also visible here, at lower centre in the branches of the tree, are the planets Mars (orange) and Saturn (white). Photographed in 2018.
