The firing commenced on Sunday, Dec. 7, at about half-past six in the morning, from the gun-boats, and the enemy's troops were soon dislodged from clump No. 3, and were seen flying in all directions. After this no opposition was made to the landing. The boats in the foreground contain the 64th () Regiment, and the Bombay Rifles. The Bombay and Sir Jamsetjee-Jeejeebhoy are two small steamers, employed in towing boats, &c'. From "Illustrated London News", 1857.
