In judging the seedlings, they have been especially careful as may be seen by the report of the New York show, where only three awards were made out of the seven premiums offered, for which the trade at large should return their heartiest thanks; a prize or certificate means something under such careful handling. Our success at the shows last fall, gives us confidence in offering our customers a few points of advice in growing for exhibition; (we took fourteen premiums out of seventeen entries for cut-bloom, beside four Colum-
