On Junefirst, the high school was shut down, due to thescarlet fever epidemic and we missed out on aSophomore party. We were consoled, however, byremembering that we also missed out on examina-tions. As a result of the unusually long vacation, weentered into our Junior year with a great deal ofsurplus pep. To begin with, there were a few socialhours at the boys gym. and the Juniors were al-ways well represented. On April 16, we had acandy sale, and some thirty dollars was addedto the Junior treasury. On January 31, we had our Junior dance, our first real event. It was held inthe boys gymnasium, which however was figura-tively transformed into a Japanese ballroom. Jap-rnese umbrellas, fans, white lattice-work massed. ^0»>\ OTTiO*^ with sweet-peas, all helped towards this and wafers were served thru-out the eveningand the dances were engaged on pretty programscarried out in blue and white, our class was also a favor dance, in which the girlsreceived crowns and the boys badges, bearing theword Junior in blue and white. Everyone presenthad a good time and pronounced our Junior party abig success. Later in the year we gave a play en-titled, The Mouse Trap. It proved a success,and the attendance was unusually large. The castof characters included the following Juniors:Marvel Mattson, Edwin Teale, Nellie Hess, AnnaBale, Catherine Dixon, Clara Greif. On accountof the war, it was decided that we have no Junior-Senior reception, so our Junior year came to aclose without the usual flourish. Now came our Senior year. The crowning yearfor our class, and the year which we shall alwaysthink of as representing our high school life. Socialactivity began early. It was decided that a
