Karlskrona - Växjö Railway was opened for public traffic in 1874. The same year completed station house on two floors. The railroad was designed so that this had room for five tracks. The first provisional locomotive was already built in 1872 north of Karlskrona Station. New locomotive was built simultaneously with the railroad in 1874 entirely of brick and housing 6 stall places.
