Local Christmas market at dusk in the square of a town with unrecognizable people. Center of Gavirate, square Matteotti, seat of the town hall as written on the yellow building. Gavirate is located on Lake Varese (lago di Varese), lake of glacial origin, famous because it hosts rowing competitions of national, European and world level. Frequented for various activities such as fishing, rowing, walking and cycling along the 28 km cycle path. In the lake there is the small Islet Virginia regarded as one of the most important Prehistoric pile dwellings around the Alps, from 2011 added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site
