Blood dialysis tubes are seen amongst other medical wastes at Gioto garbage site in Nakuru. A new study by Dutch scientists has found human blood now polluted with microplastics. The study says 77 per cent of those tested had Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) microplastic particles in their bloodstream. During the 5th session of United Nations Environmental Assembly () a landmark resolution to establish a global plastics treaty by the year 2024 was agreed.
