and Republic of Korea Marines work together to move supplies through an obstacle course during the Korean Marine Exchange Program 17-1 on Nov. 23, 2016 at the Leadership Reaction Course at Camp Mujuk, Republic of Korea. KMEP shows the continued support between the two countries since the signing of the Mutual Defense Treaty October 1, 1953. The Marines are with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, currently forward deployed from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to 3rd Marine Division, based in Okinawa, Japan.
