A few miles from Lisbon the Palacio Nacional de Sintra, also known as the the Royal Palace or Paco Real at Sintra in Portugal was built in the late 14th century on a site previously occupied by the Moorish rulers. It has since undergone a number of updates and additions over the centuries.
